Story
It’s the Monday after Sunday brunch and Dan, Serena, Blair, Chuck, and Nate prepare for school.
At the morning assembly, Jenny’s choir sings Glamorous. It’s Ivy Week, and the Constance Billard girls are in-charge of Friday night’s mixer and the St. Jude’s boys will provide the ushers for the visiting representatives.
Dan’s nervous about his Dartmouth interview. Nate wants to keep his options option but his dad won’t take him seriously. Serena wants to ace her Brown interview and just transfer to a state where no one knows her and she can start over.
Outside, Serena rushes into the assembly which just finished. She runs into Dan and they talk very casually.
At the Constance Billard field, Serena and Blair get into a catfight in the middle of a hockey game. Blair’s more manipulative than Serena and eventually fakes a painful leg, making the coach kick Serena out of the game.
Dan, Nate, and Chuck are trying to get chosen to be the Dartmouth usher but only Dan’s is a contemplated effort.
Some of the results:
Yale - Chuck Bass
Dartmouth - Nathaniel Archibald
Harvard - Steven Spencer
Penn - Bart Wenrich
In Blair’s apartment, Kati and Isabel tend to Blair’s supposedly bad leg. Chuck calls her and they plan to find out why Serena came back.
Dan comes home from school feeling bad about not being the Dartmouth usher.
Chuck follows Serena to the Ostroff Treatment Center. He shows photos afterward to Blair who’s ecstatic with the prospect of Serena’s social sabotage.
Rufus talks Lily, the Chairwoman of the Parents Committee, into signing up Dan officially onto a newly-formed Refreshment Committee. He’ll be performing himself at the mixer.
Serena takes Eric out of the Center with her to the Friday mixer. Serena steals the Yale rep away from Blair. Blair gets her revenge by choosing Dr. Ostroff’s Center as the beneficiary for their school’s charity events. She recognized Serena as one of the addicts and alcoholics who are undergoing rehabilitation at the Center which almost caused Lily to have a nervous breakdown. Serena bravely took the stage with Blair and talked about forgiveness. She leaves the mixer after she makes a last attempt to reason with Blair. Dan follows her out and they make up.
Jenny and Eric bump into each other at the party and get to know each other. Eric tells her about his stay at the Center and that he was too lonely when he and his mom moved to the hotel. Eric tells Blair that it was he who’s staying at the Center and showed her his scarred wrist. Blair’s taken aback by the pain she’d just caused.
Nate offers Dan a chance to meet Jed Hall, the Dartmouth rep. When his dad confronts him, he tells him outright that he doesn’t want to go to Dartmouth. The next morning, however, his dad arranged for an early run with Mr. Hall.
In the Humphrey apartment, Dan shows his dad an autographed book “The Petting Zoo” by the Dartmouth rep and thanks his dad for what he did.
To Dan
Hope to see you in two years.
Jed Hall (Signed)
Jenny visits Eric at the Center, catching him in the middle of a solitaire computer game, which he quickly hides. She gives him a present. The Brown rep had dropped off flowers for Serena, the supposed patient.
Blair finds Serena at her secret spot. Serena’s quietly reading a book on a bench. Blair reads her a letter she had wanted to send while Serena was away.
Dear Serena,
My world is falling apart and you’re the only one who would understand. My father left my mother for a 31-year-old model. A male model. I feel like screaming because I don’t have anyone to talk to.
You’re gone. My dad’s gone. Nate’s acting weird.
Where are you? Why don’t you call? Why did you leave without saying goodbye? You’re supposed to be my best friend. I miss you so much.
Love,
Blair
Serena admitted that she didn’t know what to say to Blair or how to be her friend after what she had done.
Spotted in Central Park: Two white flags waving. Could an Upper East Side peace accord be far off? So what will it be? Truce or consequences?
We all know one nation can’t have two queens. What happens next? Only time will tell.
