Thanksgiving 2006
- Straight hair is in - both B and S’ hairstyles. B’s always been into hairbands.
- Dan ran into Serena Thanksgiving last year while Serena was really drunk and really high. Serena calls him Dave after he introduces himself.
- Blair is sous chef to her dad in the Waldorf kitchen.

Thanksgiving at the Waldorfs
Blair prepares in the kitchen, reprising her role of sous chef for her father. The father-and-daughter tandem work the kitchen together. This year, though, Eleanor tells her that her dad isn’t showing up. B and S fight again so the van der Woodsens have to fend for themselves this holiday.
Blair’s really bummed — and binges on dessert. Eleanor practically pushes her too. Serena comes to her rescue this time around.
When Blair comes back to the Waldorf apartment, Eleanor comes clean with her that she just couldn’t have her husband there — especially since he sent divorce papers. Mom and daughter bond over dessert at the Waldorf kitchen.
Thanksgiving at the van der Woodsens —> at the Humphreys –> at the diner
Dan and Serena get their parents into a really impossible situation for their parents. Dan invites Serena, who tags along her family. So Lily and Alison and Rufus will be under the same roof for the holiday. Lily has no idea Alison is back and so old flames flare up at the Humphreys.
All because of Rufus’ old song Rosewood. Rosewood — Lily’s horse when she was young. Most likely not Alison’s scent made of rose and sandalwood. The elders finally decide to have Lily keep away from Rufus. And so it’s french fries for Lily and the kids at a thankfully-still-open diner.
Thanksgiving at the Archibalds
Nate walks out on his parents at their really stiff holiday table but he leaves his parents alone. He later sees his dad passed out after taking Vicodin together with alcohol.

Memorable Lines
Howard Archibald (Thanksgiving 2006): I brought this deal in. But if Meltzer closes this without me, I don’t get the commission.
Ann Archibald: Forget the commission. I’ll write you a check myself. Sit. We’re just about to eat.
Howard: I think I just lost my appetite.
