In Hollywood’s Next Wave, Vanity Fair recognizes the really good talent coming from the younger generation. All the Gossip Girl young characters make it in the prestigious list: Jessica Szohr (she plays Vanessa Abrams, Dan’s best friend), Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester, and even “Little J” Taylor Momsen.

You have to go read their brief profiles over at Vanity Fair. They’re all very down-to-earth.

Notice how the Jonas brothers are there too — but Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana isn’t. Too bad about that mess with her “sexy” Vanity Fair photo shoot - she’s been adorable, especially on the first season of Hannah Montana.

What’s our favorite blonde (okay, one of our favorite blondes) up to this summer? While waiting for the second season to start, we’ll see more of Blake reprising her role of Bridget in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (Show starts: August 6, 2008). All the main characters look so airbrushed in the movie promo photos — just Hollywood in action. Blake’s character Bridget is best friends with Tibby (Amber Tamblyn - Joan of Arcadia), Carmen (America Ferrera - Ugly Betty), Lena (Alexis Bledel - Gilmore Girls).

Boasting of 13 Directors, Blake Lively plays the lead love interest in New York, I Love You. Shot only for over a month, the movie’s slated to be shown February 2009! I can’t wait. It’s got an all-star HUGE cast, including Hayden Christensen, Shia LeBouf, Christina Ricci, Natalie Portman (writer too).

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

Still in production, Blake Lively plays the teenage Pippa Lee. Madeline McNulty is so cute playing the even younger Pippa Lee and Robin Wright Penn the present-day Pippa Lee. Far from the insecure Jenny Humphrey created by Cecily von Ziegesar, Taylor Momsen who plays Jenny on the Gossip Girl show is fully blossoming. I still can’t get over the fact that they chose a skinny 14-year-old blonde to play Jenny. And now she’s chosen by IMG models, who also chose Mischa Barton and Hilary Duff before.
